Where were we last? This week was not a terrible Monday! It certainly kept me busy, but despite the heat I was able to be productive and somewhat lively after I got home. (I have no such hopes for tonight.)

I took the kitchen garbage can down to the car wash hose and sprayed it out; I'll have to do this again at some point and actually take soap/a scrub brush, but just a spray did miracles and now that I know it's that easy, I should do all the garbage cans before the end of the season.

Still on the high of new Gundam Wing stuff - new manga + Frozen Teardrop teaser. (I now need to re/visit the whole series properly and finally read the Glory of Losers manga, which I have started multiple times and then the universe happens...) taichara has been helping me identify ancient gunpla kits that I adopted many, many years ago for the intention of painting/custom practice. Mostly, it is Altron that keeps tripping me up.

After finishing the Gundvolva, I built HG Vidar who ended up with some spot-painting... (but not fixing that blue this time around - I can absolutely see picking up another kit in the future though and trying for... whatever will fix that) Working on an M1 Astray now as preliminary research for IIBB. It looks like there's a tie on my poll...

Also, taichara got me a roll of sparkly plastic lace for my birthday so I spent my 'hurry up and wait' time at work weaving. I managed a couple different kinds but one other just didn't work out. I don't know if I just really don't remember the stitching or it needs a variety of colors to look proper. (I also got a couple of books, one of which was photos of Mexican-American Cemeteries which was interesting but went a little too hard on the photos being artistic over informative and the accompanying essays (not all by the photographer) leaning in some weird directions including one insinuating that families replacing deteriorating homemade memorials with modern granite is somehow showing a lack of love for the deceased what even.)

The cool days have ended and tomorrow is supposed to be brutal. Work has been... Listen, at this point my main comment is "this month has been a very bad day".

I signed up to iddyiddybangbang theoretically with art, and by 'art' I mean 'completely bonkers custom gunpla' so we'll see how I do. The deadline is within a couple days of the deadline for a contest in the little gunpla discord I'm in so double-dipping, maybe?

Speaking of, yeah, still happily working on models. While I haven't seen Witch from Mercury, the kit I just finished is the Gundvolva from it because I like the overall look of the machine. I've finally set up my computer desk so I can built little kits while also being social and it's better than doomscrolling between conversations. Vidar is next, but he's a pretty simple-looking critter. And since it's been awhile, here's a poll!



* this is a little plane-like thing, and someone could ride on it or hang-glide with it or something?
** this will need a spot of paint, and by spot I mean the orange needs to be pink but otherwise a straight build, lol
*** this is just taking a red Astraea kit and building as Exia because there should be all the runners to do this and at this point I basically live for weird Exia (and Astraea) stuff

Building models has really scratched an itch I don't even know if I had. Gonna start cycling other hobbies back in, once the weather calms down, but right now this is good for these hot days where my greater focus is pretty much crap.

(I've also been working through the JFF movie lineup before the end of the month; I should be able to get there!)
